What is a CUPS number and where can I find it?
CUPS stands for Código Universal del Punto de Suministro: the identifier of an electricity or gas supply point, not the person who holds the contract.

What CUPS means
CUPS is the Código Universal del Punto de Suministro. It identifies a particular supply point, such as a home or premises. It does not identify the account holder.
Electricity and gas supply points have separate CUPS identifiers. Spanish CUPS commonly begin with ES.
Why it is used
It is used in common supply-management procedures, including starting a supply, changing supplier, changing the contract holder or changing certain contract conditions. The distributor may need it to identify the correct point.
Where to find it
It is commonly printed on electricity and gas bills. The exact placement varies by supplier, so look in contract or supply-point details. If you cannot find it, the distributor can help identify the supply point through its customer channels.
Treat it carefully
Avoid posting a full CUPS in screenshots or public messages. OTRIA’s current public waitlist does not collect CUPS. Any future product use would be described in the privacy notice that applies at that time.
